Description

This acrylic base plate (also called PMMA or polymethyl methacrylate) has a size of 50x30 cm and a thickness of 3 mm.

NOTE: This sheet has a unique optical property. In normal ambient light, it appears orange. However, when held against a white background or in daylight, the transmitted color may appear more pinkish/magenta. This is because the material absorbs certain wavelengths and transmits primarily red light.

The sheet is pre-cut to this practical size and is therefore immediately suitable for a wide range of DIY applications such as laser cutting, CNC milling and sawing with hand tools.

PMMA is a durable, lightweight, and optically clear plastic that is highly resistant to UV radiation and weathering. The material is significantly stronger than glass and simultaneously easier to work with. Thanks to its smooth surface and clean cut edges, minimal post-processing is required.
